We spent 2.1 billion dollars on energy in 2014. 1.8 billion dollars of that left our community buying 99.9% of the energy we use. This is a big hole in our local economic bucket.

It tracks our energy as it gets used…and wasted. 45% of our energy turns into pollution in the form things like of greenhouse gas emissions, smog, and excess radiant heat. In short, we spend nearly a billion dollars a year importing environmental waste.
